GENERAL INFO

Welcome to our new club website!!!

UPDATE: 3nd Dec 2018
Site is in process of being updated to latest info for club.

If you are interested in hiking, bushwalking, tramping or whatever it is you'd like to call it, you have come to the right place. Our club was started back in 1984 and conducts walks around the Bundaberg region each fortnight, as well as extended trips. We are planning more overnight treks as well so if your interested don't hestiate to get in touch!

The club’s activities include bushwalking, kayaking, overnight hikes and social events. As a club member, you’re kept up-to-date by our monthly newsletter which advertises day trips on most Sundays as well overnight trips. Visitors are most welcome.

We also venture out for extended trips of 4-14 days as well.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Calendar

Summer Break all of Dec 2018 to Feb 2019 see you all at the 2019/2020 Planning meeting.

January 20, 2019 - Walk Planning Meeting and Social Event - Botanic Gardens
This meeting will be to plan the walk calendar for the first half of the 2019 (that's right, 2019!). Although this is still a few months away, start thinking about walks you would like to see on the agenda for next year. If you cannot make the meeting, we are still happy to receive ideas beforehand, especially if you are interested in leading the walk. Meet at the Botanic Gardens at 10am. We will have lunch and a catch-up after the meeting. BYO chair, food and ideas!

Date TBA - Dairy Creek/Hogsback Range Waterfall - Hard S3c
This walk is best done shortly after rain, when the falls are flowing, so whenever it rains near a weekend Lucinda is free, this walk will be scheduled and notified to members via email. The walk is up Dairy Creek which in April was fairly thick with regrowth, and after rain can be slow to navigate. We then have a steep climb up to the first drop of the waterfall, then another short, steep climb up and around the lower drop to the top drop. This is a full day walk. When scheduled (likely in summer) contact Lucinda on 0421 011 181 to register.

Those intending to participate on outings are asked to contact the nominated walk leader prior to the walk. This particularly applies to newcomers to club outings. Comfortable walking shoes/boots and suitable clothing should be worn on all club outings. A suitable day pack should also be carried (see inside for suggested packs)
